I was wondering when this will be done? This was mentioned a while ago. I have to scroll through everything to find what I am looking for. Forums and subsections in alphabetical order would be very helpful.

Your reply sounds more friendly than the reply I received! Here`s what I was told:
The go to menu at the side will list all the forums, not in alphabetical order, but under their category header. This may change, but we are not planning any change in the near future.
The forums are certainly very, very slow, so maybe they`ve lost viewers and posters. Seems people only check General. I can`t get to the other forums anyway, as they`re covered with some advert..... not worth the trouble. Plus the pale blue headings for the categories is very hard to see. Not sure why they are so against having an alphabetical order for the forums..... bizarre!

I think a bigger issue may be: forum newcomers and regulars actually noticing / finding the Go To link in the first place. Or when they do, understanding what a key role the tiny "Go To" link at the extreme right edge of the webpage has been assigned for the whole site.
If we're Not going to have a complete listing of forums ("Boards" in this site's specialty vernicular) on display for the mainpage, I think it would almost make more sense to scrap the forum mainpage listing of forums (as being misleading by their level of incompleteness and cryptically haphazard 'groupings' and sub-groupings) and just have only the Go To link, tedious as that is (& those forums listed there are not highlighted when there's fresh content).
And unless users chance across the trick of site bookmarking forums so they'll show up at the beginning of the Go To listing, they're stuck with the tedium of scrolling through the haphazard listing of 100+ forums on each return visit when searching for those forums of interest. I'm confident you're right about the alphabetical listing being easier to manage (easier to cope with imo than remembering where assorted forums have been grouped).
I agree, the forum certainly appears to have slowed down in interest since before mid-October when the changeover took place.
Don
editted to add: "Webmasters" have ready access to website stats, and should be easily able to check to see which links are being used and which are not being used. My point being, I'm confident most of those users who do show up, haven't found the 'Go To' link, and of those who have found it, most are not using it regularly as they've not figured out how best to use it (through 'bookmarking').
And, by going through the Go To link to find forums (instead of the main menu), the listings are not highlighted there to show fresh content, adding another level of tediousness to the process (imo).

The Headers aren't even in Alphapbetical Order! - if they were that would even be better than what they have now. Bizarre is right. Not like we are asking for a whole new format of the forum ![]()

Still waiting for the change. It is annoying and frustrating to have to look through every topic every time I want to go to one. Yes I could bookmark every forum but I don't feel I should have to since alphabetical order of the topics/headings is a simple solution to the list TP created.

thought I'd check with TP, but..... nothing has changed, and no update, lol. Still Bizarre! No wonder the forums are so quiet....
