I would love to see a family faith forum so that people of all faiths can come together to talk about their families and how their spiritual faith affects their family life.
There is a great deal of research that shows people who attend church services actually live longer - it is interesting.
For our family spirituality is a fundamental part of how we live, raise our children, their education and our life in general. I would love to see this forum!

Great idea.

But you have to take into consideration how others people faiths don't mix with certain faiths and it's grounds for arguments and someone getting hurt. There are just too many faiths & religions out there, and a lot of them don't mix. Someone would get hurt, left out, etc... because the likely hood that a certain faith would take over the forum is high and people of other faiths would not feel as though they could post there. Scientology, Morman's & Cathlics (just to name a few) all have different beliefs about everything, it's grounds for large debates getting out of hand, trolling, etc... Although it has the potential to be a good forum, it's has an even higher potential to turn the other way.

there are plenty of other places on the net to go for that discussion. I don't think it really belongs here and would probably be a disaster in no time.

No, I don't think so. I think it would be a disaster if people who didn't have faith commented on my faith being a fairytale.
I think most people of faith respect other people's faith and we can learn from it as well.
Faith is a big part of many families and should have a place in TP forum.

But that's what you need to understand - that not everyone will agree with "your" faith. While you think that "people who attend church services actually live longer", other posters will disagree, and think that your faith is a "fairlytale". If you can't accept differing opinions on religion and faith, then why would you want a discussion forum? A discussion is to gain new thoughts and ideas. Why not find a forum devoted to just what you believe in? Also, wasn't it you who said that everything you've posted on here was false?

Your trolling and you know it.
A family Faith forum would be a disaster and TP would never allow it. They have lost enough people over the last few years with Facebook & Twitter, etc... (And yes I can say they have lost alot, when I was in the Tri's with dd, who is 3.5 now, our due date list was 2 posts long, then again with ds, who's 17m, the due date list was less then half, now while lurking, there are maybe 10 or so ppl)
Besides YOU can't even accept the fact that FAITHS DON'T MIX!!!!!!
Go find another board somewhere dedicated to your "fairytale" faith, you have just proven to the Mods that you aren't capable of getting along with another faith!

I think most people of faith respect other people's faith. I personally find other faith's interesting. I would love to know more about what other people do at their special times of the year - what are their family traditions and celebrations around faith.
I also think they would have an understanding of what the pressures we are facing explaining things to our children. For example, my faith is Catholic yet I disagree with some of the things that my faith teaches, how to I balance what I teach my children about our faith vs what I believe to be right? I think a person of faith would understand the dilemma I am in - regardless of the faith they are.
I think the only people who have an issue with this type of forum are the people who don't have any faith - and clearly this is not the forum for them.

You'd have to accept others' views, and that quote basically says you've made up your mind. Many others will disagree with that quote, and that's what you'll have to accept, if you really do want a discussion and want to learn about other faiths, beliefs, etc.

I guess I'm not 'getting it'. You either have a religious faith, or, you have faith in there not being a concept such as religious faith. Either way, you have "faith" (I'm not understanding how anyone could lack having "any" faith).

editted to add: Maybe the title of the proposed forum could be more definitive? "Faith Forum" seems well, vague (to me, anyway).
