How do you keep your kids out of your plants?? I can't take them off the ground because they are quite large. I have tried coverig them with tinfoil, but it gets ripped off. I'm very diligent about removing ds from them, but he just doesn't get it, he's 19mo and it's "fun" to him. Dd even helps me when I can't get him, but I'm getting tired of cleaning up dirt. This has been going on since the x-mas tree was taken down, so a month, before that he never touched them, now he won't stop. There are 3 large plants, 1 on a stand, the other 2 on the floor, a very large croton and some sort of fig that hates being touched and/or moved. So 1 problem is that it's like a fun jungle to go and hide in, but I can't put them anywhere else in the house where they will still get the same amount of sun light, plus there just isn't room anywhere. The 2 that aren't on stands are honestly just too big to go on stands
Any help? I'm nervous because of the fertilizer. Yesterday ds was playing in the dirt, and as I ran up to grab him away, he ate some of the dirt. I washed his hands and his mouth out as good as I could with a toddler, but I just don't know what to do with them.
TIA

fit around the top of the soil and duct tape it in place. not pretty but it will keep him out.
do you have something else for him to dig in? an indoor sand box or rice bin?

Perfect thanks, and I'll even be able to water easily too.
Not an indoor one, but that's a great idea.
Thanks so much for both ![]()
