dh has been working like crazy for the last 3-4 years so I can stay home with the kids. He's also back in College one day a week to get a better future for all of us so I'd like to go for a mini-vacation at the end of August, just before he starts school for his 2nd year (it's a 3 year program).
I was thinking Niagara Falls. The kids are coming with us (6 and 2). I saw that Hilton Hotels and Suites have gorgeous suites (we need a suite, not just a room) and was wondering if anyone recommend this hotel or could recommend any other hotel.
We've never stayed in Niagara Falls btw. And it would be for one night only.
Thank you for the help.

My kids have been to the Americana and loved it. It has a waterpark as well. They said it was great for younger kids.

Try Groupon and those kind of coupon sites, they often have great deals.

If at all possible, I'd wait until the fall when you will save a fair bit of money, and it will be much less crowed.
We stayed at the Embassy Suites in April and it was great. We got a deal through Teambuy or one of those similar sites (I can't remember which one) and it was only $115 per night which included a fallsview suite, free breakfast (which was a GREAT free breakfast), a manager's reception (snacks just before supper for free!), $40 for the Keg restaurant (bearing in mind that THIS Keg restaurant overlooks the falls and it's prices are more than other Keg restaurants) and $50 for Dave and Busters (arcade type place) as well as free shuttle service during our stay. You do have to pay for parking at the Embassy and it's expensive so we just parked at the Casino parking lot a short walk down the road and paid $5 for that when we left. (it will be a bit more during the summer I'm sure)
Edited to take out a link that doesn't work! It was a deal that was $175 for an Embassy suites room available for a few days in July that included what I mentioned above, with the exception of a fallsview room. (and I think a fallsview room is really really nice because you and dh can sit and look at the falls after you put the kids to bed!!!)
These deals come up all of the time, so don't just book with any hotel - check out teambuy, dealfind, and all those type of sites to get the best bargain! You will get something for a quite a bit less if you are willing to wait until the fall!
I get emails from the Embassy suites and can watch for a good deals coming up if you'd like!

The link didn't work for me, I had to sign-in to see the deal. I will check Groupon for sure.

I would be tempted by Americana IF we haven't been to GWL in April! I think this time we'll do a hotel and go out and walk around in Niagar-Falls to check out what's there. We love GWL so I think it would be hard to like another indoor waterpark type of place.
Thank you for the suggestion ![]()

Ideally, yes I'd like to wait for the fall but I want to go before dh starts another crazy year of school (he starts in September).
I'll definitely remember about the parking, to park at the casino instead of the hotel if they are charging for parking (who am I kidding, of course they'll charge for the parking!!!).

We love Niagara Falls, we try to get there about 2 times a year.
Our favourite is the Sheraton on the Falls, it is right at the base of Clifton Hill so within walking distance of all the fun stuff.
It also attaches to the Crowne Plaza where the waterpark is, not sure if you were wanting to do that as you said you did GWL but they do have packages if you choose.
Clifton Hill has lots of things from games, arcade style/chuckie cheese where you get tickets you can redeem for a prize. There is the Hershey store, the Rainforest cafe, the Birds of Paradise is within walking distance of the hotel as well.
Oh...and the falls are right there too. We have also stayed at the Skylon or Skyline??? They have the option for bunkbeds for the kids (your little one may not be good for this) They play movies in the covered courtyard. Very cute to see all the kids come out in their pajamas with pillows etc.
This hotel is also attached to the Crowne so again, another option for the water park.
Check to see if there is any special nights with fireworks etc...they always put on a good show.
Have fun. We love Niagara Falls, have a wonderful time.

and went with the 1st hotel I was looking at. The Hilton. I didn't want to go to a hotel that had the whole indoor waterpark because we usually go to GWL once a year and are happy with them.
I looked at the other hotels that were recommended and for what I wanted (a big suite looking at the falls), the Hilton was the best choice for us. I got the family package which offer free buffet breakfast (it would've cost us $50), a big suite (2 bedroom suite) and a $40 voucher for dinner. It was the best deal for us and the hotel looks beautiful (I know I know, they all look good on their website!!).
We will be doing a lot of sighseeing (sp?) so I didn't need too much entertainment at the hotel.
Thank you everyone for all the replies, I really appreciated. I saved them in my Favourites if we ever go back to Niagara-Falls in the future.
