Hi

Heading to Chicago in May, long weekend, and wondering which area to stay in?  Is it similar to NYC where subways are everywhere and expensive for parking?  I really liked renting an apartment in NYC so wondering about doing this in Chicago?  It was nice to be able to do some meals if we wanted to and have the extra room.   Another option is to do a Best Western with our airmiles.  My son would love to take in a basketball game, that is if there are any.  Thinking of driving and my cousin who is meeting us there lives in Hamilton said it's about 8 hours, so for us probably about 10.  Also wondering if we should drive so far then train it in if we don't need a vehicle or if it is expensive to park.

I know parking at the hotel we are using in July is $50 per day and the next nearest hotel is $60 per day!!!  That's steep. Otherwise, I know nothing about the city.

When are you going in July?

We are going the 7-11th. Seeing a Jays game while we are there.
