dark humour. I'm a little more than half done and really enjoying it, then feeling guilty for enjoying it...

I've just finished The Distant Hours, by Katherine Morton (epic, gothic, mysterious happenings in a castle in the English countryside, great summer read!)
Others on my summer reading list:
The Virgin Cure, by Ami McKay (author of The Birth House)
Shadow of Night, by Deborah Harkness (follow-up to A Discovery of Witches)
The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien (because I've never read it, and it's about time!)
Elizabeth I, by Margaret George (my absolute favourite Historical Fiction author, and one of my favourite figures in history!).
