Birthday Parties & Celebrations

I need ideas on what to give 11 year old girls for my DD birthday and end of school year celebration.

I don't want it to be very expensive.  I put best wishes only on the invites but some of the kids are insisting on getting her a gift anyway.  Not sure how to handle that either.

Any suggestions.

Hi there.  My birthday is right at the end of school too so my Mom always did a combo type party too!  I would think 11 is still young enough to enjoy bubbles and a skipping rope or something like that, just simple for the loot bag.  As for gifts coming anyway, I think you just have to accept them gracefully.  We have done numerous parties with the goal to raise money for a charity and gifts come anyway.  We just accept them and thank the people and don't make a big deal about it.

Hopefully not many will bring gifts but if they do I'll make sure to not make a big deal out of it.
