Birthday Parties & Celebrations

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday, we are taking a trip to his brothers house for a BBQ and possibly a trip to something resembling a beach. Tonight I am taking him out to The Works for a burger. For his present I allowed him to buy himself a new set of drums...maybe that was lazy, but it's what he wanted and I know less than nothing about drums, lol.

Do you buy your SO what you think they want, take orders (like my DH does with my gifts) or let them shop for themselves?

I'm lucky, my dh is so easy to buy for. He's like a teenager so I can buy something for his car, something for his video games, something from his favourite sports team or something for his electronic gadgets. Very easy.

My husband buys things himself - he is into camera/computers, expensive things and is very specific about what he wants when it comes to those things.  I do sometimes go and buy electronics but only if dh has given me exact specifications and usually that is when he is on nights and there is a limited time sale on something.
