Hi![]()
Going on a cruise in 3 weeks so thought I woudl look into a self tanner. I have never had much luck with them years ago, but I know they continue to change. Went to Shoppers today to find out about one. I watched "Marilyn" and the favourites on there done by a poll of women were the Jergens and Lancome Bronzer. When I went to Shoppers the clerk said that Clarins was the best. I thought I would try the Jergens to start but then I had to choose which colour. I have fair skin and she suggested to buy the darker one and then I wouldn't have to apply it as many times compared to buying the one for fair skin. Once I started looking at the Jergens they had a mousse which she said is easier to see than the cream, then there was a quicker one, that took less time to show up. Not sure which one to try. I asked her if I didn't like the product could I bring it back and she said yes as long as you keep the bill. Lancome has a deal on right now at Sears where if you spend a certain amount you get a bag of goodies, so thinking of trying this one too if I don't like the Jergens. Also wondering about the spray tans. I tried it years ago and didn't seem to get much colour, but they have probably changed the products now.
I like the fact of buying something at Shoppers and if you aren't happy with it you can return it.
Thanks for your suggestions.

I've used Jergens for years but always use the Express not the regular. I find the regular has an unpleasant, lingering odor. The product is easy to use and inexpensive.

Hi![]()
Thanks Max. So do a scrub and should I moisturize first? Any suggestions with knees ankles??
Thanks again
I think you need your own blog so we all can just ask you questions and follow your healthy habits/lifestyle![]()

If you don't exfoliate regularly, then I'd do that a couple times prior to using it for sure. And yes, a light moisturizer before applying and little extra on the knees and elbows. The beauty of the Jergen's product is that it's a gradual tanner so it's hard to 'mess it up'. I use it all summer and just pop it on when I get out of the shower and let it absorb while I blow dry my hair. And then don't forget to pack it for your trip!! I hope it works as well for you as it does for me.
Have a super trip!!! I'm glad you worked something out....you need a get away!![]()

Hi![]()
Thanks again Max
Going to try that one. I bought the other one but sounds like the one you used will work out better so I'll return it. When I was choosing which colour to get the salesclerk said to go with the darker one if I wanted quicker results, which made sense in one way I guess, but the way they are advertise it is to choose based on your skin type. I'm fair so not sure which to get. Reading reviews online looks like Clarins is out on top, and this is also what she had said was a great self tanner. I also have a few credits for spray tan so may try that as well. Figure I still have 3 weeks to figure something out and since it's winter, I can still hide indoors, lol.
I was very excited when dh surprised me with the trip and am looking foward to our dd going as well. She has never been to an ocean and I think it will be a great trip for her. Would be nice if our son could come too especially since he will be off to University in the fall, but he will be off skiing with his buddies which I'm sure he will enjoy. I think it has kept my mind more off of losing my mom as well with having something to look forward to. It also gave me the extra push to get a trainer once a week and pushing myself back into working out 6 days a week. I'm weight training, but now need to try and put some cardio in there at least 3 x a week. My health fortunately has improved slightly as well, but it's ongoing and I continue to fight.
Thanks again![]()
